for library users

This National Libraries Day, help send a collective message that we love our libraries and the librarians and library staff who work in them! Help celebrate libraries of all kinds: public, school, university, workplace, legal, commercial, government libraries…

Find an event, or create one

Visit a local event: Last year’s NLD celebrations saw over 600 nationwide events including author readings, songs and performances,  a 1940’s dance, fancy dress tea parties and much more.

Host your own event – Get in touch with your local library and find out what they are doing for National Libraries Day. If they have nothing planned, why not talk to them about arranging a celebration, party, author event or read-in? Involve others in your community, host the event at your library, school or workplace and post it on our events map so others can join you. Be creative! Create a buzz about libraries and library staff.
