FE/College Libraries 1 year, 4 months agoCheers Abby,
Just done a display on the history of libraries, focussing on our local Carnegie library. Hopefully that will lead to more people using that!

FE/College Libraries 1 year, 4 months agoHi Jess, having some kind of event that people come in to the library for is a really good idea, even something as simple as a book sale, story telling, a new books display, a lucky dip, a book group, craft […]

FE/College Libraries 1 year, 4 months agoWe’re still considering what we’ll be doing for National Libraries Day. What we must do first is decide what day we’ll be celebrating as we are closed on the 4th – it’s a Saturday and we’re not in! But rest assured we will be celebrating!

Hi Jess,
I work for the University of Bradford Library. We needed to do something simple as none of us are in on Saturdays either.
We have decided on asking students (particularly our International students) to tell us about their favourite or local library, and making a display (with quotes, pictures etc) based on this.
Anything that is…[Read more]

This is an excellent idea Emily!
I may suggest this one as, like you say, it invloves the students having their say.

We are also closed on Saturday in most of our campuses, but we’ll be doing displays in the week leading up to NLD promoting libraries and the history of our local public library.
